A recruiting firm built by a Forward Deployed Engineer

EmbedHire recruits FDEs and the people who deploy beside them. It's run by someone who does the job: writing code inside customers' systems, and sitting in the meetings where those customers push back.

Why I started EmbedHire

I work as a Forward Deployed Engineer. A typical deployment starts with a customer who has signed a contract but isn't sure yet what they bought, a stack nobody documented, and a go-live date someone promised before I was in the room. The engineering always gets solved. Whether the customer goes live depends on whether they trust the person on the other end of the call.

As FDE hiring took off, I kept seeing companies hire for the role the way they hire backend engineers: a coding screen, a system design round and a culture chat. Nobody watched a candidate handle a frustrated customer until that person was already on an account, and by then the customer had usually made up their mind.

So that's the part we test. Before you meet anyone we send, they've written working code against a messy API and done a role-play built around one of your customers, and someone who does this job has decided whether they'd trust them with it.

How we work

We only recruit for deployment roles

That means FDEs, deployment strategists, solutions engineers who still write code, and the people who lead them. Because it's all we do, we know which titles mean something and where the good people actually work.

We'll tell you what we really think

If a candidate isn't right, we'll say so. If the role is set up in a way that will burn someone out, we'll tell you that before the search starts.

Candidates always hear back

Everyone we interview gets honest feedback, whether or not they get the job. The FDE world is small, and we plan to be part of it for a long time.
